Capone

The Verband's Breeding Director, Dr. Thomas Nissen, commented on Capone as follows:

"Capone is the sturdiest stallion of the entire year's Koering entries - he always kept up his good carriage. He is built compactly and each part of his anatomy is very precisely and correctly shaped. His movements are full of momentum and energy, which should help him to prevail later in all riding disciplines. It is his jumping talent in particular that earns special mention. During each of his performances he was optimal (perfect) in the leg and jumped with great skill."

We were very excited to bring this remarkable stallion to the United States.

We expect Capone to continue the impeccable production records of his sire and grandsire, particularly in the area of jumping brilliance and sound temperament.

Capone's sire, Contender, has to date produced 35 approved sons for the German Holsteiner Verband, as well as having sons approved in every other European Performance Horse registry. His offspring have been successful throughout the world of international showjumping. Contender is being spoken of as one of the stallions of the century, in the same leagues as Cor de La Bryère, Landgraf, or Lady Killer.

One of only a handful of Contender sons available in the United States for breeding, Capone is to our knowledge the only stallion standing at stud who is both a German Holsteiner Verband approved son of Contender and a competitive success on American showgrounds. This stallion loves to win- he was born to jump, and to be competing in this sport fills him with evident delight.

Capone's Dam, Winja, contributes the famous Stamm line 890- known in Germany for producing jumpers. Stamm 890 is currently ranked among the top two Stamme for showjumpers, according to the Jahrbuch and the World Breeding Federation rankings. Capone's mother herself has produced two approved sons, one successful dressage stallion, and has two other sons headed toward approved in the coming years.
